Businessman Gracefully Skips Down Last Few Stairs

Skippidy Doo Dah

He moved like an elegant swan.

Something very special happened at Wynyard train station yesterday afternoon. During the peak hour rush, a crowd was moving monotonously down the stairs to platform 6, until one man dared to be different. Management consultant Fabian Friel reached the 5th step from the bottom and decided he was sick of walking. It was time to prance.

Those who witnessed the event described it as simply breathtaking.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” said one onlooker in disbelief. “He was just walking normally, but then out of nowhere – BAM – a work of art.”

Friel, who has surprisingly never competed in professional gymnastics, took most of the steps at an ordinary pace, but decided to speed things up a bit at the bottom. In what has been called an “inspired” movement, he doubled his pace, threw his knees to the sky, and simply glided down the rest of the way.

“I don’t know how I got the idea,” Friel admitted in an exclusive interview. “A great wave of clarity just washed over me and I knew what I had to do.”

It’s hard to believe Friel is a real person like you or I, but the truth is he’s just an ordinary guy. An ordinary guy with an extraordinary gift.
